Fall trip to the X-ray microscopy
X-ray Spectromicroscopy News
October 2007

Jay Brandes did a 5-day run at the NSLS in October, looking primarily at marine sediments from anoxic and suboxic environments at the C edge. He also continued a study of carbon K-edge carbonate XANES, which are showing some interesting differences between calcite, aragonite and dolomite...stay tuned for future news. Eventually I hope to start a small spectral library for the mineral and organic standards I have run, but many still need to be published first....Some P XANES spectra have been published, see publications list.
