| Thursday, 20 November: |
| |
| |
08:30-10:00 |

Begin discussions on the direction of future research and the logistic and other operational impediments to initiating multinational, multidiscipline efforts. An attempt will also be made to identify existing and needed assets for the conduct of such research and how these needs might be addressed. Following this, identify subgroups to begin more detailed discussion research frameworks such as:
Use proposed GEOTRACES transects to develop framework for focused offshore research. Where should the track go? What should be measured? How often? What other work is necessary?
Framework for research in coastal and estuarine shallow water. Try to pick 4-6 areas where a large coordinated effort could be mounted and repeated several times. What fundamental data are required? Discuss logistics, measurements, permissions, permanent installations, etc. |
